1) Why would the Lord Jesus reveal Himself to Paul, the enemy of the Gospel? Did Paul have a choice to oppose this revelation?
2) What is meant by the words “any who were of (or, belonging to) the Way” in verse 2?
3) What did Jesus mean by, “It is hard for you to kick against the goads (or, pricks)” (vs. 5)?
4) How does the Lord’s vision for Paul’s future ministry (vs. 15-16) compare with how we, North Americans, tend to look at ministry?
5) How does Paul’s conversion experience compare with some of the specific truths concerning the Church revealed to him specifically later on after his conversion?
6) If you compare chapter 9 with chapter 22, what do you think Paul’s fellow-travelers would have noticed of Paul’s miraculous experience?
7) Comparing this chapter with Galatians 1, what do you think is the chronology of the first few years after Paul’s conversion?
8) Comparing vs. 26-28, what should our attitude be when complete strangers come into our gathering who claim to be Christians?
9) Compare verse 31 with chapter 4:4; 5:14; 6:7; 12:24; 13:49; 16:5 & 19:20 and ask yourself: “What is the key to numerical and spiritual growth of the church?” What hindrances were removed to see this growth continue? Is there anything in the church or in my life that could be a stumbling-block for growth of the local church?
