Hello & Welcome

“For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23

Welcome

What can I expect on my first visit to the Family Bible Hour (11:00-12:00 AM on Sundays)?

When you come into our building, you will most likely be greeted by a few different people. Please don’t feel intimidated. We are genuinely interested in getting to know you. There will always be someone who can direct you and answer any questions you might have.

At 10:30 a.m., we invite you to join us in the lower auditorium for tea, coffee, and light refreshments before the service begins. Our Family Bible Hour commences at 11:00 a.m., beginning with congregational singing and announcements, followed by a Bible message lasting approximately 35 to 45 minutes.

At the same time as the Family Bible Hour, our Sunday School for children meets downstairs. There will be singing, Bible lessons and activities for each age group. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make learning from God’s Word exciting and memorable for your child. All teachers are screened and approved to ensure the children’s safety.

We also have a safe and clean nursery for children under three years old that is staffed with nursery attendants.  If your infant or toddler should be in need at any time during the services, nursery attendants can easily contact an usher who will come and get you from the service.

We want your whole family to feel welcome at Charlottetown Bible Chapel, so if your child would rather stay with mom and dad – that’s ok too!

There is no dress code for those attending. You will find that there is a range of dress styles, often from casual to the more traditional “Sunday best”.  The main thing is that we want you to feel comfortable and welcome when you visit. You will be welcome to come as you are.

Charlottetown Bible Chapel is led by a group of elders, who, together, share the duty of pastoring.  Each of them is active in preaching and teaching, shepherding, and overseeing the congregation.  The elders, who attend to the spiritual needs of the congregation, are assisted in the practical and material duties by men who serve as deacons.  Preaching and teaching are shared by the men of the fellowship who have the gift of teaching and who have developed it through study and faithful practice.

Every Sunday we meet to follow the request from the Lord Jesus Christ in Luke 22 when He said, “Do this in remembrance of me”. This is a time when those who have a personal relationship with Him through salvation spend time in worship and partaking in breaking bread and taking the cup.  The men lead this time and read short passages of Scripture, give their thoughts on what the Lord has done for us, pray, request songs that lead us to praise and worship. It’s a time set aside for thankfulness.

If there’s something we’ve missed, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we hope your first visit with us will be very positive! We are here to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you’ll feel welcome from the very first moment you step into our building! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
