A Geologist, Hydrogeologist & Karstologist speak on
Intelligent Design, Christianity & Science

DR. EMIL SILVESTRU earned his PhD. in geology at the “Babes-Bolyai” University in Cluj, Romania, (where he has worked as an associate professor) in karst sedimentology. An authority on the geology of caves, he has published 39 scientific papers and coauthored 2 books. Dr. Silvestru was previously the head scientist for 8 years at the world’s first Speleological Institute in Cluj.

FRIDAY, MARCH 12 (University of PEI)

12:30 – 1:30pm – Which Came First: The Chicken, The Egg or Information? (#243 – MacDougall Hall)

Some strong arguments from biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics in favour of Intelligent Design.

1:30 – 2:30 pm – Questions and Answers

BREAK

7:00pm – 8:00pm – The Tree that Became a Bush: The Evolution of Human Evolution (#104 K.C. Irving)

Presents several of the greatest hoaxes, lies and misinterpretations of anthropology. The wishful thinking and say-sos of the evolutionary view are revealed, as well as their negative effect on Western society. A short look at the history of human inventions disproves evolution in the Darwinian sense. Anthropology does not disprove the Genesis account.

8:00pm – 8:20pm – Short Q&A

8:20pm – 8:40pm – BREAK

8:40pm – 9:40pm – Christianity and Science: Was the Divorce Necessary? (#104 K.C. Irving)

How science emerged from the Christian worldview, some great scientists who were honest Christians, their role in science. Information (as an entity separate from matter and energy which controls them) properly applied reveals a true harmony between God’s Word and God’s world. Science is the prodigal son of Christianity.

9:40pm – 10:00pm – Short Q&A

SATURDAY, MARCH 13 (University of PEI)

1:00pm – 2:00pm – Rocks around the clock: The Eons That Never Were (#104 K.C. Irving)

The paradigms of secular geology are critically approached, and inconsistencies revealed. A number of problematic (for secular geology) topics are reviewed and explained through a young-earth paradigm in which they make perfect sense. A fundamental discrepancy between the evolutionary model of life and the data from the fossil record is dealt with in this presentation, i.e. the simplest creatures have evolved for the longest time.

2:00pm – 2:20pm – BREAK

2:20pm – 3:20pm – The Universe, Time and Us (#104 K.C. Irving)

A different look at the new scientific data from deep space which questions the Big Bang model and the idea of an old universe.

3:30pm – 3:40pm – BREAK

3:40pm – 4:40pm – Waters of Contention: Was Noah’s Flood Fact or Fantasy? (#104 K.C. Irving)

The Global Flood and geology – a closer look at plate tectonics and how they could explain the Global Flood. An approach from world’s mythology is also taken, showing the veracity of a global flood. Evidence from the geologic and fossil records is analysed and explained in accordance with the idea of a global flood.

4:40pm – 5:00pm – Questions and Answers

DINNER BREAK

7:00pm – 8:00pm – Video Documentary – The Voyage that Shook the World (52 minutes) (#104 K.C. Irving)

In 1831 a young amateur scientist, Charles Darwin, boarded the HMS Beagle on an epic five-year voyage of discovery that would shake the world. In this expansive documentary the HMS beagle once again sets sail as it retraces Charles Darwin’s voyage in lavish detail, examining his findings and remarkable conclusions – and their implications – in the light of modern knowledge.

8:20pm – 9:20pm – The Darwin Delusion (#104 K.C. Irving)

No one has praised and worshipped Darwin more than evolutionary ‘atheist evangelist’ Richard Dawkins. Declaring Darwin’s contribution “arguably the greatest intellectual achievement of all time,” he’s written the best seller “The God Delusion”. But if Darwin was deluded, so is Dawkins! This presentation explores and reveals Darwin’s correct assessments and his errors (and their consequences) as well.

9:20pm – 10:00pm – Questions and Answers

SUNDAY, MARCH 14 (Charlottetown Bible Chapel, 35 Lincolnwood Dr., Charlottetown)

11:00am Morning Service – Genesis, the Gospel and the Creation/Evolution Issue

The main relevance talk, about the significance of the first 11 chapters of Genesis and how the entire Bible’s authority stems from them. Christianity without those chapters loses relevance.

12:00pm – 2:00pm – Potluck lunch

2:00pm – 3:00pm – Do we have a Bible-based world-view?

Why is Christianity’s voice so weak in this 21st century? Because, I suggest, Christians have failed to create a true world-view (a complete explanation of the world around them, from science to culture) and consistently apply and promote it in everyday life. I propose, based on what the Scripture tells us, such a world-view and ways to effectively promote it so that our voice will have an impact again.
